The Center for Environmental Sciences and Engineering (CESE) promotes collaborative, multidisciplinary, environmental research and graduate education in the biophysical sciences, engineering sciences and social sciences. It comprises state-of-the-science environmental chemistry laboratories in four divisions: Nutrients, Metals, Organics and Emerging Contaminants. These divisions support faculty and student research, and engage in extramurally supported investigations on a diversity of environmental projects. In addition, CESE provides laboratory or office space for various affiliated faculty members as well as for visiting scientists. Via its mini-grant programs, CESE catalyzes innovative, collaborative, environmental research by faculty members and graduate students. Finally, the Center’s Office of Business Services supports proposal development and grant management for Center faculty and staff members.
